Juventus director Beppe Marotta assures Max Allegri’s era “has just begun,” but wishes they’d avoided Bayern Munich.

“Without doubt it’s a high-profile game. Bayern are the favourites to go through, but we have caught up with them in recent years. We want to fight all the way,” Marotta told Mediaset Premium.

“In my view UEFA should include seeding in the draw in future, as evaluating the co-efficients over the last five to 10 years you could avoid such a big match in the Round of 16.”

He was asked yet again about the rumours Chelsea are eager to poach Allegri.

“In my experience, a Coach divorces from a club at the end of a positive era or for a dismissal. Allegri’s era has just begun and everything is in place to continue together.

“He is happy with us, we are happy with him. It is a marriage that will continue.”

Juve’s opponents in Serie A often suggest the club has an advantage due to its superior revenue, so how will they do against a financial powerhouse like Bayern Munich?

“I don’t believe revenue makes that much of a difference in football. We created our own business model and have achieved great things.

“We reduced the average age of the squad and our approach can continue to bring success in future.”
