Maurizio Sarri claims the 'bad moment' won't stop Napoli ahead of the Europa League game against Villarreal.

It kicks off at 20:05 GMT tomorrow at the San Paolo, after a first leg that ended 1-0 for the Spanish team. Sarri began his Press conference by discussing his individual players.

“[Omar] El Kaddouri has no problems, but I don't know how he's doing because I still haven't seen him,” Sarri told the Press. “We'll see if he joins us in training.

“[Against Milan] we drew our wingers to the middle of the pitch so we could make the most of our full-backs. It was deliberate. We often went for the cross, but we weren't always attacking the goal with the strikers.

“We need to keep creating what we are creating. There are ups and downs, there will be times when we're given two chances alone and we score on both, others in which this won't happen. It's no tragedy.

“This is what the moment is like. Bayern [Munich] could have scored four times against Juventus yesterday, but they could also have conceded four. We gave Juventus nothing.

“At the Madrigal [in the first leg] we were denied a penalty, then we were punished on a great free kick. Against Milan we hit an inside post. These are things that happen and we accept that, but we won't let bad luck hold us back.”

Sarri was then asked about the rumours that Gonzalo Higuain would join Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

“I don't read these things and I don't know anything, but I think he has many more offers aside from PSG.

“Villarreal are one of the strongest teams in this tournament. They combine young and experienced players. Some of their talents will become important players, you'll see that 3-4 years from now.

“Scoring will be important, but so will good defending, because they have good possession and countering skills.

“In the last game against Atletico Madrid they conceded two opportunities, while we created more than they did when we played away.

“But everyone who plays against Napoli is said to be poor, they said that of Midtjylland too, who went on to beat [Manchester] United.

“It takes time to develop a team that attacks on short distances and defends over long ones. In Italy, Coaches aren't given much time. But the players have greater fun, they accept that quickly and it's less tiring for them.”
