Inter, Milan hold stadium talks

Inter and Milan are holding talks over San Siro this afternoon, with Barbara Berlusconi to meet Erick Thohir.

The stadium will host the Champions League final this season, and the two clubs are working on renovations.

However, there is also dispute over the future of the Giuseppe Meazza after the Rossoneri abandoned their plan for a stadium in the Portello area of the city.

Joint-CEO Berlusconi, daughter of President Silvio, has insisted that the club needs its own stadium, but her father wants to remain at San Siro.

The Nerazzurri also want to stay at San Siro though, and were reportedly furious when Milan abandoned the Portello project, as they hoped to take ownership of the iconic stadium, which is currently owned by the local council.

President Thohir is therefore expected to discuss the long-term future of the stadium with Berlusconi, with both sides wanting the other to move out.

The talks will be held at Casa Milan, with Berlusconi already in attendance and Thohir expected to arrive shortly.
