Juventus director Beppe Marotta warned against complacency with Inter and said Real Madrid links with Max Allegri are “not true.”

The second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final is tonight, follow the build-up and action on our LIVEBLOG.

“We must try to forget what happened in the first leg and maintain the determination seen in recent matches," the director general told Rai Sport.

“Football is a sport where the unexpected is always around the corner, so we must face this Inter side with great wariness.

“We are proud that Allegri is receiving praise, as when we chose him it was not a popular decision at the time. I’d also point out he is working with one of the best teams and clubs in circulation.”

There are reports Allegri is now an option to take over at Real Madrid next season.

“I can say it’s not true. There is a rapport of great cordiality and respect. There are no secrets between us, nor are there secrets between Real Madrid and Juventus. They have always been very fair with us.

“That takes nothing away from the great abilities of this professional we are happy to have at our disposal and we are happy to continue this project with him, as we have barely begun.

“The issue of the contract is a formality. I say whoever wrote that knows full well how things went. I don’t want to add any more, as we cleared the air with them this morning.

“Besides, I think Zinedine Zidane is a good Coach and needs to be given time, as he hasn’t been there for long. Of course it’s not up to me, but I know the vision of the Madrid directors and if they made this choice it’s to go forward.”

Juventus drew the first leg of their Champions League clash 2-2 with Bayern Munich and visit the Allianz Arena on March 16.

“We’ll go with great determination, unfortunately aware we start with a big handicap, but we have the opportunity to turn the result around.

“We have 90 minutes to play open football and have to give it our best.

Napoli are having a great campaign, as are Roma and Fiorentina, while I believe in Milan and Inter. There are many points still up for grabs.

“This is a season where there is no hare that breaks out in front, we are all pretty even and the unexpected is just around the corner.”
