Alessandro Florenzi admits “it’s all about who scores more goals, in the end it doesn’t matter how well you played” after Roma went out to Real Madrid.

The Giallorossi were strong in both legs, but lost them 2-0 home and away to go out of the Champions League.

“Unfortunately in football clinical finishing makes a big difference and we didn’t have it. We had several chances one against one and didn’t take them,” Florenzi told Mediaset Premium.

“In this sport it’s all about who scores more goals, so in the end it doesn’t matter how well you played.

“Experience doesn’t make you miss in front of goal, so we have to take responsibility for that.

“In my view we played two great games and for long periods kept Real Madrid under pressure, imposing our style on the opposition the way I hadn’t seen in a while. This is a stadium where so many teams struggled.

“Our objective is to play these games and to do that we must give our full heart and soul, trying the tactical situations that we do in training, but with a bit more clinical finishing on the night.

“Will Roma be back in the Champions League next season? Absolutely yes.”
