Sparta Prague winger Ladislav Krejčí admits “we’re not favourites” against Lazio in the Europa League.
The Biancocelesti will face the first leg of their Last 16 tie in the Czech Republic tomorrow night, and one of Sparta’s star men admits his side are the underdogs.
“We’re aware of Lazio’s strength,” Krejčí told reporters in the pre-match Press conference.
“They play in one of the hardest Leagues in the world. We have a chance to go through, but we’re not favourites.
“We’re always favourites in the League, so that could be an advantage for us. Our priority is to win the League, Europe is a bonus.
“I can’t wait to play in front of a full stadium, we’ll push for qualification. We have to play on the front foot as we’ve always done so far in the Europa League.
“They’re very strong in attack and they play as a team, so those are their best weapons. The key for us is to not concede a goal and to score at least one.”
Krejčí was then asked if he remembered the last time Lazio came calling, in the Champions League group stages in 2003.
“I remember it well. I was 11-years-old, I was at the stadium and Sparta won in the last minute.”
