Roberto Donadoni was disappointed with defeat at Inter, as Bologna conceded their first set plays of the season.

Before this 2-1 result at San Siro, the Rossoblu had not conceded a single goal from corners or free kicks, yet let in two in five minutes.

“We conceded two goals on set plays, clearly we weren’t concentrated or reactive enough in those situations, but other than that Inter barely created any problems for us.

“We defended well overall and should’ve been more positive when going forward, but we were too timorous,” Donadoni told Sky Sport Italia.

“The first goal came from a deflection, so we were unlucky there. In the second half we had been taking more control of the game until the goals. I am satisfied overall, we have to look forward now.”

Bologna lost star striker Mattia Destro early on to a bruised foot after an accidental stamp.

“I am not particularly worried for Destro, we will see what the tests say, but it seems to be a heavy bruise. I hope there are no fractures and that he can return soon.
“We have other options like Sergio Floccari and the players will be able to take their chances during Mattia’s absence.

“Considering the way Bologna started the season, everyone surprised me in a positive way since I arrived here. The quality was always there, they just needed the confidence in their own abilities.”

Bologna are the only Serie A side in the last 19 rounds to have avoided defeat against Juventus.

“These are small satisfactions, but our target remains safety and that means getting points wherever we can, whether it’s against Juve or Inter.

“This performance was a little below our recent standard, but we’ll get back on track.”

Mediaset Premium also asked Donadoni about the reports he's in line for a return to the Italy bench.

"Enough of this talk now, it's really getting tiring. I am at Bologna and I'm planning the future at this club."
