Lazio captain Lucas Biglia blasted his teammates for a “shameful” Europa League defeat to Sparta Prague.

The first leg had ended 1-1 in the Czech Republic, but they were 2-0 down at home after 12 minutes and eventually lost 3-0.

“It was shameful. What we did was shameful. We proved that we have learned absolutely nothing,” Biglia told Sky Sport Italia.

“What I said after the first leg was that we hadn’t achieved any advantage and needed to start as if it was 0-0. Nobody listened to me.

“It’s difficult, but we have to unite as a team and accept we’re ashamed of that performance.

“We knew Europe was important for us, but Serie A isn’t over yet and we have a very important game on Sunday against Milan.”

This was Lazio’s worst European home defeat other than 4-0 to Chelsea in the 2003 Champions League.
