The Czech side had been the underdogs, especially after a 1-1 home draw in the first leg, but got through to the quarter-finals for the first time since 1983-84.

“The sensation of being in the quarter-finals is wonderful,” beamed Scasny in his Press conference.

“We won the game tactically, thanks to the players on the pitch. The more the minutes ticked by, the more I believed in this success.

“It is the greatest victory of my career, absolutely. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined winning 3-0 away to Lazio.

“They put their best players out, but we made the most of our opportunities. Now we have to prepare for Sunday’s Prague Derby.

“Will the players have time to celebrate? Certainly, they are smart, so if they drink a beer or two nothing bad will happen.”
