Radja Nainggolan explained his late goal for Roma against Inter, as he pounced on an accidental Edin Dzeko assist.

“Everyone knows Inter have a solid defence and it was tough for us to find the right moment to hurt them, especially with Gary Medel going deep,” the Belgian told Sky Sport Italia after a 1-1 draw.

“The Nerazzurri scored with their very first chance, but we reacted well and could’ve done even better with other opportunities.

“I saw the ball bobble along and dived in to get there before Miranda could clear. It was not an easy shot, I believed and it went well.

“We tried to pin them back in the final 10 minutes, but were a little tired after a series of games where we looked sharper than our opponents.

“Dzeko certainly wants to play all the time and the Coach made it clear in the locker room that we are all important, we can all make the difference whether starting or coming off the bench.

“He helped open up some new spaces for us who came in from deeper. We tried to play the ball throughout and it would’ve been unfair to lose this game.”
