Before the break for international duty and Easter, the Serie A newcomers emerged out of the bottom three for the first time.

“Serie A is a treasure for the entire city of Carpi, so I hope the fans realise this is the turning point,” said the Coach in a Press conference.

“I expect a convincing response from our supporters, as this derby is going to be a passionate affair. The games with Frosinone and Verona are behind us and we must look forward.

“We worked on physical and tactical issues over the last two weeks to ensure we’re in the best possible shape for these final eight games, without looking at the past.

“Against Verona I said we needed a great game and we got it. With Sassuolo I say we need a special game.

“We were underwater and are now floating, but not safe yet. We don’t want to fall back below Palermo.”

Carpi did not announce their squad for the match, but Jerry Mbakogu is unlikely to feature after skipping training again today.

Lorenzo Lollo is another doubt, so Simone Verdi is on alert.

Emanuele Suagher and Marco Crimi are suspended.
