Lazio have officially sacked Coach Stefano Pioli and handed the reins to Simone Inzaghi for the rest of the season.
The decision was announced in a brief statement this evening.
Pioli’s position had already become untenable, but he had hoped to reach the end of the campaign.
However, today’s 4-1 Derby della Capitale defeat to arch rivals Roma proved too much to sustain.
Inzaghi is a former Lazio player and is currently the Coach of their Primavera youth team.
