Giampiero Ventura felt Torino achieved a “deserved victory” away to Inter. “Now hopefully fans can rediscover enthusiasm.”

The Granata had been without a victory in Serie A for two months, but fought back from an early penalty to conquer San Siro 2-1.

Remarkably, they hadn’t won this fixture for 27 years, but now celebrated in their last two visits.

“It was a deserved victory and one we really needed,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“It was a deserved victory and one we really needed,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“We have had three disastrous months for various reasons, but tonight’s performance proves when this team plays real football, we can cause problems for anybody.

“We allowed Inter very little and fully deserved the win with good football, keeping very sharp. Of course the two red cards were an advantage, but Inter didn’t have a shot on target in the first half other than the penalty.

“I am happy for the players, for the club and the fans. I hope that in this final period of the season the fans can also rediscover their enthusiasm. I am proud of these lads and was really disappointed with the results over the last few months, but I have enough experience to realise you emerge from difficult moments with hard work and not words.

“I think Andrea Belotti will be in the senior Italy squad soon enough, let’s see if I’m wrong. If he doesn’t, then it’s me who will have failed him.”
