Edy Reja rues Atalanta errors as they “gifted two goals to Torino” and criticises the referee.

The Orobici had won two on the trot before their 2-1 defeat at the Stadio Olimpico.

“It was a shame to gift two goals, especially the second one within 25 seconds of the restart,” Reja told Rai Sport.

“We tried to the very end and had the opportunities to equalise. In the end Marco Sportiello only had to make one save, so really we were too naïve.”

Atalanta’s hopes of a comeback were also dented by Marten De Roon’s second bookable offence.

“I think the referee Di Bello whips out his cards a bit too easily. The official should be able to show his authority in other ways, without always going to the cards.”
