Hellas Verona sporting director Riccardo Bigon accepts Napoli 'are stronger', but demands 'respect' from the referees.

In spite of the 3-0 final score, today's match was controversial and even Coach Luigi Delneri sounded bitter about the refereeing.

“It was a near-impossible match, though the penalty decision was correct,” Bigon told the Press at the end of the game. “We lost because Napoli are stronger, but we deserve more respect and so do our supporters.

“We want to honour our colours, but certain oversights by the referee are not acceptable. The goal resulted from a clear foul on Gomez Taleb. The failure to give a red card to [Raul] Albiol was incredible, but of course they wouldn't send him off after what happened with [Napoli's Gonzalo] Higuain last week.

“We were probably going to lose anyway, but we want to play while enjoying everyone's respect.

“I've got nothing against Napoli or Albiol, I'm just talking with a view to the future. In the next six matches we hope to see a different attitude.

“As for Delneri, the President will make his decisions at the end of the season after evaluating everything. And this is only fair.

“This season was negative, especially at the beginning. We were often without an attack, and now we must all make it to the end together.

“We have little hope, judging by the standings. We need to prepare the week in the best possible way to be ready against Frosinone. Hopefully there will be greater care in that match.”
