Simone Inzaghi admits to feeling “emotional” about his Olimpico debut as Lazio Coach against Empoli.
It kicks off on Sunday at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT), click here for a match preview.
“I could not have had a better debut,” he said of the 3-0 victory away to Palermo.
“We deserved that victory and this week I saw the team work in the right way. We will try to give our best. Empoli are a well-organised side, but we are Lazio and we must win.
“It’ll be my first match at the Olimpico as a Coach, but I know the stadium so well from my years as a player. It feels a little different now and will be an emotional occasion.
“It is very important that we improve our position in the table so we can fight in the last five rounds. The first outing at Palermo went well, now we need to confirm it wasn’t a fluke.
“I too read people say we only won because Palermo were in crisis, but the Lazio we saw on Sunday would be difficult for any opponent. I saw great spirit from the lads and we must build on that.
“We must respect Empoli tomorrow, but not fear them. They have quick players and are very dangerous on the counter.
“Can Lazio get into Europe? It’s a very difficult mission, but as a player I won the Scudetto when trailing by nine points. It’s a difficult fixture list, but anything is possible.”
