“We had a decent first half and could’ve moved quicker on the counter, but we made mistakes against a Juventus side that is already dominating Serie A,” said the Coach of their 3-0 defeat.

“I would’ve liked to see our reaction if we had all 11 men on the field, but after the red card the game basically ended there.

“I want to see a positive and attacking team. After all, we have no pressure to get points, so we must take advantage of the situation and shrug off any worries.

“It’s true we are missing some important players like Milan Bisevac, Marco Parolo and Miroslav Klose, but this is football after a midweek round.”

Milan hit the brakes against Carpi and Sassuolo were held to a 0-0 draw too, so do Lazio still have some hope of grabbing sixth place and potential Europa League qualification?

“There are still 12 points up for grabs, so anything could happen. I want to see the same attitude as in my first two games.

“It’ll be a high tempo encounter with Sampdoria, as they have two trequartista and will try to cause us problems between the lines, but we are ready.

“Samp have quality and should be higher up the table, but are motivated because they still need to secure safety. I want to see a team alive and kicking, so hopefully the incidents go our way.”

Inzaghi was promoted from the Primavera youth team after Stefano Pioli’s dismissal, so will he remain on the senior Lazio bench next season?

“I just have to focus on doing well. I think the club appreciates my work and that of my staff, so will make their evaluations.

“I think regardless of how this experience goes, I am done with the Primavera level. I should’ve finished there earlier, but I had five and a half years in the youth academy and it was a wonderful journey.

“It was helpful having the chance to make mistakes, as at this level it’s not allowed that much. I’ve been in football for 25 years overall, so I think I’ve paid my dues.”

Patric is also suspended, joining long-term absentees like Ricardo Kishna, Stefan de Vrij, Alessandro Matri and Stefan Radu.
