Roma-Napoli is on Monday afternoon, but security forces have to readjust as at least 1,500 visiting fans get around the ban.

Napoli fans had been barred from making the trip to the Stadio Olimpico for this Serie A showdown due to security fears.

The ban is on people who live within the Naples or Campania region, even if they are season ticket holders and have the so-called ‘fan passport.’

However, it emerged at least 1,500 Neapolitans have managed to get tickets to the game by buying them in the other sections – which would put them alongside Roma fans.

Other reports suggest it’s over 2,000 who have got tickets through this loophole.

Only 20 official tickets have been sold in the ‘away’ section at €50 each, a higher price than usual to encourage supporters not to make the journey.

With this in mind, the authorities have decided to re-route any Napoli supporters into the away section to guarantee their protection.

Roma are believed to be angry at this situation, according to La Repubblica, as it ratchets up the probability of crowd trouble.

The ‘Derby del Sole’ has been played without away fans ever since the Coppa Italia Final in 2013, which saw Napoli supporter Ciro Esposito shot and killed by a Roma ultra outside the stadium.
