“I am not planning to buy any English club. I really don’t understand where that is coming from.”

Is Thohir planning to sell more than 20 per cent of Inter to Suning Commerce Group?

“Basically, it’s not true. I am here to build Inter, as I promised, not to run away. I want to build for the future. This is why I believe in my management and don’t want to sell the majority.

“I have a good rapport with Massimo Moratti, as I’ve said many times before, so I really don’t know why they keep writing these things.”

Negotiations with Suning are certainly on-going, as their President Zhang Jindong is in the stands of San Siro after a series of meetings at the club HQ and Moratti’s villa.

“This is why I say yes, we are looking for minority investors, and I cannot say the negotiations are closed until it is all finalised. That is my style.”
