The Rossoneri sustained a loss of €89.3m in 2015, but that amount has been written-off by holding company Fininvest.

Joint-CEO Adriano Galliani is present at Casa Milan to answer questions from shareholders, and came in for some fierce criticism.

“I think every year, especially last year, I’ve raised a number of criticisms,” shareholder Giuseppe Gatti said.

“The situation is getting worse, worse than we could imagine. I never imagined it would get to this point.

“We can’t say that it’s down to [Clarence] Seedorf, [Filippo] Inzaghi or [Sinisa] Mihajlovic [the last three Diavolo Coaches]. The responsibility lies with the leadership: Galliani and [President Silvio] Berlusconi.

“It’s not an act of treason to say the President has faults. When Milan were saved from bankruptcy there were still great champions like Paolo Maldini, Franco Baresi and Filippo Galli.

“Where are the champions today?

“The second year with [Max] Allegri was a major setback, giving way to Juventus’ domination in the League. We lost the League against a Fiorentina which was half of what it is now.

“The year before you [Galliani] sent [Andrea] Pirlo away. You gave a gift to Juventus, buying [Alessandro] Matri for €11m. The responsibility is yours.

“I’m waiting for you to resign and Berlusconi to return to being honorary President. We need generational change at Milan.”

Another shareholder also expressed his frustration with Galliani.

“Every year the team is touted as competitive. The fact is that the results say the opposite, and bring us back to reality.

“In this squad there are only three or four players worthy of Milan, it’s not the fault of the Coaches. The driver doesn’t matter if the car isn’t good.

“The ones who must be considered guilty are the ones who are detached from reality and offer nothing other than saying ‘we are competitive’.

“The Coaches aren’t being given the opportunity to do their jobs.

“You continue to change Coaches and, given the poor results, how do you plan to counter the falling season ticket sales.”
