There is a division in the Roma ultras, as one group is abandoning its boycott of home games, but most others are not.

The organised fan groups have refused to sit in the Curva Sud all season in protest at new barriers that divide up the section.

They have consistently travelled to away games without problem, but even boycotted the derby against Lazio.

On Friday a statement was released by the Fedayn group claiming the ultras would return to the Curva Sud for the last home match of the season against Chievo.

However, another group released a statement late last night insisting their boycott will continue.

“The barriers are still there, as are the police and the arrogance of a rotten and corrupt system that remains indifferent.

“Because of all this we decide not to step into the Curva, to once again remain outside of a system that does not represent us.

“With a heavy heart, once more, we choose the most difficult path, the one that forces us to stay away from that Curva where our heart remains.

“This is not the moment to descend into making pacts with anyone. With heads held high, we carry on our credo.

“We will not enter. We will not break. We will not step back. We will remain proudly outside for our history. All of us are Roma!”
