New reports suggest Silvio Berlusconi has agreed to sell 51 per cent of Milan to Chinese investors.

An consortium of businessmen from the Far East are thought to be in negotiations to invest in the Diavolo, but demanded an answer from the patron by Wednesday.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Berlusconi had been insistent on retaining a minority stake, and was only willing to sell 49 per cent.

However, the website now states that the President has agreed to sell 51 per cent, giving the majority of the Rossoneri to the new investors.

The deal would see the former Prime Minister stay on as honorary President, as he doesn’t want to walk away from Milan, but would allow the Chinese investors to have operational control.

It’s further reported that the first priority of the new investors would be to build a new stadium, after the previous Portello project collapsed.
