Roberto Mancini believes Inter had “a good season” – “finishing fourth is not such a bad result”.

The Nerazzurri were targeting the Champions League this season, but the Coach believes the campaign has been a success.

“I think it was a good season,” Mancini said on Gr Parlamento.

“We were hoping to get into the Champions League, but we had the best teams in front of us. Finishing fourth is not such a bad result.

“I think it was a good season,” Mancini said on Gr Parlamento.

“We were hoping to get into the Champions League, but we had the best teams in front of us. Finishing fourth is not such a bad result.

“A rating? I always want to be the best… As I said after the Sassuolo match [a 1-0 loss at San Siro], I wouldn’t be happy with third place.

“I’d give us 6.5, because we’ve improved from last year, but we’re Inter and we must do much more.

“In head-to-heads we didn’t suffer, and actually at times we were better than the great teams. We played our games against Juve and lost, with Napoli and Roma we were the better team.

“In the long-run though, Juve, Napoli and Roma took more points, so we have to bring in some new faces to help those who are already here and decrease that gap.”

Mancini was also asked about the chances of him remaining in the job, on a scale of one to 100.

“I’d say 100. I feel the trust of the club, that’s never been missing.”
