The Giallorossi are still in the hunt for second place, sitting only two points behind a Napoli side who visit Torino this evening.

Keita Balde Diao is the only absentee, though Kostas Manolas is carrying a knock in defence, but Alessandro Florenzi returns at right-back.

Strootman won't be given a second consecutive start, in spite of having impressed in the 3-2 victory away to Genoa on Monday evening. Miralem Pjanic returns from suspension to join Radja Nainggolan and Daniele De Rossi in the middle, supporting Diego Perotti, Mohamed Salah and Stephan El Shaarawy.

That means Dzeko is dropped yet again, but Totti is eager to come off the bench for what would be his 600th Serie A appearance.

Although it is not official, it’s widely believed Roma have agreed to extend Totti’s contract by one more season, despite the fact he turns 40 in September.

There’s no arguing with his impact, as in the last five games he has contributed four goals and one assist, despite playing a grand total of 101 minutes of football.

As it is the last home game of the season – and potentially Totti’s last – some sections of the Curva Sud are returning to their places, suspending the boycott.

However, other groups hung up banners declaring ‘anyone who enters is an accomplice’ to the use of barriers to split up the stands.

Chievo are comfortably mid-table, but certainly not unmotivated, especially after an epic 3-3 draw when these sides met in January.

Dario Dainelli, Simone Pepe, Valter Birsa and Nicolas Frey are injured, but Riccardo Meggiorini is back in the front line with Antonio Floro Flores.

Nainggolan recently said Chievo midfielder Perparim Hetemaj was one of the toughest opponents he had ever faced, so their battle should be fascinating.

The Flying Donkeys have only ever won two Serie A trips to the Olimpico, drawing three and losing eight.

The most recent was a 1-0 result on May 7 2013, decided by Cyril Thereau in stoppages.

Roma (4-3-3): Szczesny; Florenzi, Manolas, Rüdiger, Digne; Pjanic, De Rossi, Nainggolan; Salah, Perotti, El Shaarawy

Chievo Verona (4-3-1-2): Bizzarri; Cacciatore, Gamberini, Cesar, Gobbi; Rigoni, Radovanovic, Hetemaj; Castro; Floro Flores, Pellissier
