The attention of the fans went primarily to Captain Gian Paolo Bellini, who bid his farewells to the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia in today's game, but there was also a thankful banner for the 70-year-old Coach.

“I saw the banner and I know they appreciate me for what I've done,” Reja told the press after the game. “It's a shame we had that period when the team blacked out.

“Thankfully we managed to rectify that in the last few games, but this team was worth at least 50 points, in my opinion.

“Something didn't work. Maybe we were penalised by the injury of [Mauricio] Pinilla.”

Like several other Coaches after the penultimate match of the season, Reja discussed his future.

“We'll talk about that after the final game. If our ideas correspond, then we'll keep going together. Otherwise we'll close this chapter.

“Whichever way it goes, I'll always have a great bond with the Percassi stadium. And I'll certainly keep on coaching. I have the enthusiasm of a 20-year-old.”
