Atalanta have officially extended Marten de Roon’s contract to June 2019, though he remains a Napoli target.
The Dutch midfielder arrived from Heerenveen over the summer and impressed with 35 Serie A appearances, plus one in the Coppa Italia.
Atalanta activated their option to extend the contract today.
The 25-year-old could still leave Bergamo, though, as the club confirmed numerous times that Napoli have first refusal on both De Roon and goalkeeper Marco Sportiello.
