The former Italy Coach has revitalised the Rossoblu and secured their Serie A safety after taking over from Delio Rossi in late October.

So far he has been adamant that he’s focused only on the Stadio Dall’Ara side, but changed his tune during an awards ceremony this evening.

“At this moment I am thinking only of Bologna, but if I do go for another opportunity, the directors of my club will be the first to know,” he told news agency Ansa.

“It is a question of respect.”

Donadoni has, among others, been linked with Milan, Lazio or a return to the Italy bench.

“It is important to have ambition and be ready to challenge yourself, to prove your worth. I want the chance to improve. I don’t know if this will happen away from Bologna or if there’ll be growth at Bologna.

“A return to the Italy job? It would be stimulating, but Gianni De Biasi is a serious professional and a good man. He did great work with the Albania squad.

“I am not the person who has to choose the next Italy Coach, fortunately.”
