Director Walter Sabatini assured the Francesco Totti situation is close to a solution, while Roma “hope to keep Miralem Pjanic and Radja Nainggolan.”

“There is a discussion on-going with the President and no problem, it just requires adjustments to his future activity as a director. We are on the way towards a solution,” said Sabatini.

“There is a discussion on-going with the President and no problem, it just requires adjustments to his future activity as a director. We are on the way towards a solution,” said Sabatini.

The Giallorossi finished third and will be in the Champions League preliminary round, but Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in their star midfielders.

Will Pjanic and Nainggolan both remain at Roma?

“It depends also on what the players want. I can say that we’ll try to keep them at Roma and make the team even more competitive than in recent years. I think we can achieve that.

“Edin Dzeko is a very strong player, but was not very lucky this season. He didn’t find consistency and the Coach found an important tactical solution with the three ‘light’ forwards.

“Once we started scoring an average of three goals per game, it was difficult to break that side up and give Dzeko playing time. He is an exemplary professional and will never be a problem for us.”

Sabatini has said he intends to walk away from Roma this summer, though Luciano Spalletti is confident he’ll remain.

“It is what the Coach hopes for, but I know what I will do and what I am doing right now is putting the utmost effort in for the Roma market.

"We have an option on Stephan El Shaarawy and are happy to retain him, as he settled in very well with the Coach and teammates."
