The Coach and club decided to continue together next season following a crisis meeting and a dismal end to the campaign.

“We always gave Montella what he wanted, including in the January transfer market, just as we did in the past with Walter Zenga and Sinisa Mihajlovic,” the President told Ansa.

“Now it is his turn to make the club and the fans happy and give us what we want.

“I am ready to intervene on the market to reinforce Samp. I will not hold back, because I want a winning Sampdoria.”

Ferrero is now due to meet with director of sport Carlo Osti, who clashed publicly with Montella after a 3-0 Derby della Lanterna defeat to Genoa.

“There will be a revolution. We must learn from our errors and there have to be changes within the club, but I will never send anyone away because of what one person wants,” added the patron.
