Meanwhile, Vilhena spoke to Voetbal International about his situation.
 
“Everyone knows Feyenoord is my hope, so a longer stay was a real option for me. The only thing I asked for was equal wages to the majority of the other players in the team, but Feyenoord were not ready to give me that.
 
“Fine, in that case we break up. I read people say I am a money-grabber, but those who know the real wages at Feyenoord are aware that’s not true.
 
“Why should I continue to earn less than the other lads? It’s just a form of appreciation. If Feyenoord don’t want to give me appreciation, then I’ll look forward.
 
“I think I will go to a good club where I can continue my growth process.”
