A group from the Far East have been granted exclusivity in negotiations for a 70 per cent takeover of the Rossoneri, but it’s not certain the patron will sell.

According to Tuttosport, the former Italian Prime Minister has put a number of conditions into the deal.

The first is that he be allowed to stay on as club President for two or three years after the takeover, though this would be a largely honorary role, given he’d only retain around 30 per cent of the club.

The second condition is believed to be guarantees that the Chinese group will invest in the playing side of the club, in order to return Milan to the upper-reaches of Serie A.

Having missed out on Europe for three seasons in a row, it’s thought Berlusconi wants guarantees of major investment.
