The Portuguese creative midfielder has been in Udine since July 2013.

“I’ve reached the end of the road and I think this is the right moment for a definitive step up in quality,” the 23-year-old said to Desporto au Minuto.

“Will I return to Portugal? That depends on the ambitions of the club, as if it’s a side that is challenging for the title then I could come back.

“My next ambition is to win silverware. Porto? I prefer not to say one way or the other, as my agent is taking care of it.

“I just want him to tell me what proposals are on the table and at that point I’ll decide, but before then I leave it in his hands.”

Fiorentina are known to be interested in Fernandes, especially if Matias Vecino is sold to Napoli.

This season he scored three goals and provided four assists in 31 Serie A appearances for Udinese.
