President Erick Thohir is uncertain about signing Manchester City's Yaya Toure and Lazio's Antonio Candreva.

The Nerazzurri's transfer campaign had mixed results last summer, as they managed to take the lead in Serie A but eventually lost it to Juventus.

“I can honestly say that Juventus have been really well structured over the last six years, while Inter are still in the building phase,” Thohir told Il Corriere dello Sport. “We'll fight against Juventus and see. In football you never know what could happen.”

The Indonesian President then went on to discuss the Biscione's objectives on the transfer market.

“I never heard about offers for [Marcelo] Brozovic from Roma or from my friend [President James] Pallotta. Brozovic is an important part of our squad.

“If we choose to sell our players in Serie A, we'll have to think carefully before reinforcing one of our direct competitors.

“If Yaya Toure can be purchased, then that's going to be positive for Inter. But we have to understand whether that would be sustainable given our Financial Fair Play restrictions, and whether he can give us a positive contribution.

“Candreva? So far I haven't had any transfer talks with [Lazio President Claudio] Lotito. Before thinking of a possible sale of Candreva, we have to sell some of ours. Then we can consider whether this operation would be sustainable.”
