Yesterday's summit between President James Pallotta, Coach Luciano Spalletti and director Mauro Baldissoni reportedly covered the summer's transfer market.

Sabatini's absence was interpreted by many as the sign of a crack in the relationship between the sporting director and the remainder of the board, a matter which was corroborated by the former's own statements.

Emerging from a meeting today with Pallotta, however, the 61-year-old seemed positively cheerful.

“It went wonderfully, we were all in a good mood, myself in particular,” he told PagineRomaniste. “Yes, I'm staying at Roma, I already said as much.

“What Pallotta said about Pjanic, Nainggolan and Rudiger was meant to protect his players.

“Our €30m deficit? Don't be vulgar, always talking about money.”

While Sabatini is expected to stay at least another year at Roma, many believe it could simply be a transitional year and that he will be replaced on the long run.
