Italian Federation President Carlo Tavecchio promises 'no concessions' for clubs who deny players to the Azzurri in the future.

The FIGC clashed on numerous occasions with the clubs in the past two years, especially over Coach Antonio Conte's decision to set up training camps outside of the scheduled international dates.

Tavecchio will look to develop a more positive relationship with Serie A's giants under the tenure of incoming Coach Giampiero Ventura, although the latter is already the object of considerable criticism.

“I think we shouldn't be looking for excuses,” Tavecchio told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “He taught football to many Coaches, and there's not much else to be said.

“He's a Coach who knows how to develop players, especially if they're young, and he comes from Torino, who are in good terms with everyone. I think he can have a similar relationship with the clubs.

“We'll respect the UEFA and FIFA procedures, and the extent of the club's resistance to the national team will be determined by the same rules.

“If they choose to give their players to the national team willingly, then great. If they don't, we'll make no concessions.”

Tavecchio was planning on giving the role of technical director to Marcello Lippi, but that idea is currently mired in legal trouble.

“For now we've solved one problem with Ventura. As for Lippi, we'll see what the Federal Court says. He's willing, and we're waiting, optimistically.

“Terrorism? It's a serious problem, but I'm sure that a country as powerful as France will put all of their resources into the defending the sports freedom of such an important event.”
