The former Azzurri Coach quit following a humiliating group round exit in the 2014 World Cup, sparking the Antonio Conte era.

“I couldn’t watch Italy on TV after the World Cup and my resignation, but I am back to being their biggest fan,” Prandelli told news agency Ansa.

“I am not going to miss the Euros. Conte spoke clearly, this will be an Italy side with a very strong team spirit, able to fight from the first to the last minute.

“They will play an organised and positive style of football, which can cover even the injury problems and absentees.

“I think the favourites are France and Germany. Don’t forget four years ago we weren’t among the favourites either, yet we reached the Final.”
