As Piotr Zielinski is holding out for Liverpool, Napoli have reportedly turned to Georginio Wijnaldum – a Roma target.
Today President Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed Napoli agreed terms with Udinese, but Zielinski “is doing everything” to scupper the transfer as he prefers Liverpool.
With that in mind, Sky Sport Italia claim the Partenopei turned their focus to an alternative in the form of Wijnaldum.
The Dutch international is ready to leave Newcastle United following their relegation from the Premier League.
Roma had already been heavily linked with Wijnaldum, so it is turning into an all-Serie A duel for the €20m-rated 25-year-old.
The Giallorossi see him as the replacement for Miralem Pjanic, who will have his Juventus medical tomorrow.
