Thibaut Courtois felt Belgium were “tactically outclassed” by Italy in their 2-0 Euro 2016 opener in Lyon.

The Red Devils were the favourites and Group E seeds, but lost to Emanuele Giaccherini and Graziano Pellè goals.

“We were tactically and organisationally outclassed by Italy this evening,” the Chelsea goalkeeper told reporters.

“We also made the same mistakes as in recent friendlies. Nobody really tracked the Italy runs from the middle.

“There is a great deal of disappointment, of course, especially after Sweden and the Republic of Ireland drew 1-1.

“Now we have to win our other two matches.”
