Everton are reportedly planning a swoop for Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman after practically two years of injury woes.

The 26-year-old Dutchman joined from PSV Eindhoven in 2013, but has barely featured since tearing his ACL in March 2014.

He underwent several operations and finally returned to full fitness in May.

According to the Liverpool Echo, new Coach Ronald Koeman wants Strootman with him at Everton next season.

The Toffees have an impressive budget at their disposal in the Premier League and Strootman is only under contract with Roma until June 2018.

However, having already lost Miralem Pjanic to Juventus, it is unlikely the Giallorossi would let another of their star midfielders go.
