“[Antonio] Conte did a great job, and now everyone must be careful with the Azzurri. In fact, you may have shown your strength too soon. Everybody's going to be prepared for you starting from the next game.”

The Slovak produced a long-range assist for Vladimir Weiss to score against Russia, but he claims he was not inspired by Leonardo Bonucci's pass to Manuele Giaccherini.

“I wish! What Leo did for Giaccherini against Belgium was a lot more difficult. I'll have to study him closely to understand his secret.”

Slovakia are an emerging power in Group B, as their 2-1 victory over Russia puts them in a position where they can realistically qualify.

“We needed that. Getting out of the groups is our objective, but the third game against England is going to be an elimination match.

“I'm enjoying the moment, and the goal I scored in this phase of the Euros is a personal satisfaction. We Slovaks had never won in a UEFA tournament before.”
