The Nerazzurri emerged as a surprise suitor for the 21-year-old striker after Juventus was already turned down.

However, both the Neroverdi president and their Coach said that Berardi would not be going to Inter.

In truth the matter depends on the player, who returned yesterday from his holidays and who must discuss the Biscione's five-year offer at €2.5m per season.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the player is thinking about his options and all parties involved are awaiting developments.

The Corriere dello Sport claims that the player already said yes to the offer, but this is unconfirmed.

In the meantime, Inter's main alternative remains Candreva, whose agent recently attempted to persuade president Claudio Lotito to discount the winger's price.

The attempt is believed to have failed, as Lotito won't budge from the price of €25m in spite of the player's alleged desire to move to Inter.
