Marco Parolo could take up Daniele De Rossi's defensive midfield role in Italy-Germany, whilst Stefano Sturaro will play further forward.

The Azzurri confront the holding world champions on Saturday evening, in a match that is shaping up to be another classic of world football.

However, Antonio Conte appears to have almost certainly lost De Rossi to injury, which leaves him in a difficult situation as the other defensive mid Thiago Motta is suspended.

However, Antonio Conte appears to have almost certainly lost De Rossi to injury, which leaves him in a difficult situation as the other defensive mid Thiago Motta is suspended.

The consensus so far was that Sturaro would take De Rossi's place, but the Gazzetta dello Sport suggests the Juventus boy won't be replacing the Romanista directly.

Instead, Parolo will step further back to cover the Giallorosso's duties, while Sturaro will take Parolo's original role.

The newspaper also suggests that Conte is considering a change in formation to cope with the situation, and is looking at an attacking 4-4-2.
