Antonio Candreva said Italy are “proud of what we achieved” at Euro 2016 and discussed his injury.
The Azzurri returned home to around 300 fans at the airport in Milan after their penalty shoot-out quarter-final defeat to Germany.
“It’s a positive experience, it went badly in the end, but we are proud of what we achieved,” Candreva told Sky Sport Italia.
The Lazio midfielder was unable to take part in the games against Sweden, Spain and Germany due to a muscular problem.
“I didn’t expect this injury either, unfortunately it happened. I cheered on the lads.”
