Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian believes the Euro 2016 campaign “dusted off the pride in Italian people.”
Italy went out in the quarter-finals after a sudden death penalty shoot-out to Germany.
“It means a lot, as we did very well and dusted off the pride in Italian people,” Darmian told Sky Sport Italia.
“I will carry this with me for the rest of my career and it’ll give me the push to do even better.
“A great group was formed of 23 players, but also great men in the staff who worked over the last month and a half. I think we need to build on those foundations going forward.”
