Bartlomiej Dragowski tells Fiorentina 'I don't intend to be Ciprian Tatarasanu's replacement' in spite of his young age.

The Polish youngster completed his medicals and signed officially with the Gigliati today, having chosen the club over Sevilla, Leicester City, Leipzig and Middlesbrough.

“I'm very happy to be part of this great club,” Dragowski told Calciomercato.it. “I hope I can improve by playing with this team.

“There's no need for me to promote Fiorentina in Poland because this team is already among the most famous in Serie A.

“I know that in the past Artur Boruc established a great precedent for Polish goalkeepers here. I want to confirm that the level in Poland is high.”

At a mere 18 years of age, it seems likely that Dragowski will have to start on the bench, behind Ciprian Tatarasanu.

“He's certainly a famous goalkeeper, with great experience. I want to develop by his side, sure, but I didn't come to Fiorentina to be the second or third goalkeeper.

“I'll do my best to prove to the Coach that I'm ready to play. Also, in the next World Cup qualifiers Poland will be playing against Romania.

“Who knows, I may be facing Tatarasanu in the national teams too!”
