After the Rosanero confirmed they were in “advanced negotiations” with Sevilla, the situation seems to be progressing well.

Monchi, full name Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo, was speaking at the presentation of ex-Sampdoria winger Joaquin Correa when he was asked about Vazquez and Brazilian Ganso.

“They are players who interest us, but as of today we have nothing definitive. We are negotiating with both clubs, but are relatively optimistic.

“There is still a long way to go because for various reasons the deals are complex. It’s not so much the economic situation, which is more or less clear, but other circumstances that are outside Sevilla’s control.

“As for Correa, we know he learns quickly, can handle both flanks and has good technique. I think he has made the first step into Europe and this is the right time to continue growing.”
