This means that in order to start acquiring players, they need to balance their books by getting rid of some elements in their squad. Selling them at the highest possible price is not only in the club's economic interest, it also gives them greater liberty on the market when buying, as per the FFP regulations.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, their plan at the moment involves selling Eder to a Chinese club, an operation which could bring them around €14m and be closed quickly, especially with the links of new owners Suning.
Other players on their way out include Juan Jesus, who will be sold to Roma on a €2m loan with an €8m buy-back clause, Dodo, on a two-year loan to Sampdoria for €4.5m, and Davide Santon, who enjoys the interest of Crystal Palace.
They may also sell one between Gary Medel, Marcelo Brozovic and Jeison Murillo for no other reason than to balance their books, as they could conceivably make €13-15m for one of them. Medel at the moment seems the most likely candidate for a sale.
