A meeting of the Lega Serie A was held today, with Vesuviani President Aurelio De Laurentiis and Juve general manager Giuseppe Marotta both in attendance.

The Old Lady had been hoping to lower the fee by offering a cash plus players deal, with Roberto Pereyra and one or two others to be included.

However, Sky reports that Napoli are refusing to enter into any kid of negotiation, so the Turin club will have to pay the €94m to get Higuain.

Arsenal are also thought to be interested, and De Laurentiis may be willing to sell the striker to them, rather than risk strengthening a rival if Juventus activate the clause.
