Nenad Tomovic reveals that former Roma's Adem Ljajic wanted Fiorentina, not Torino, whilst discussing Giuseppe Rossi.

The Serbian striker was sold to the Granata after weeks of resistance on his side, and it now emerges that his favourite destination would have been a return to his old club in Florence.

“The new signings as well as the players who came back to Florence from loan are all very driven,” Tomovic said. “I was impressed by Diks. He pushes hard on the right and he's integrating himself well in our team. He's also trying to learn Italian and this is a very good sign.

“I spoke with [Adem] Ljajic a few times this summer and he told me that what he wanted was to come to Florence, but it wasn't just down to him. He'd certainly have been helpful to us.

“[Giuseppe] Rossi? He's a champion. As far as I can tell he's doing good, he's chilled and focused. I hope he stays with the Viola this year, and in the future as well. He's an extra weapon for Fiorentina.

“As for [Cristian] Tello, I'd like for him to come back. He'd managed to adapt well to our football and he could still be useful to us.”
