Veteran goalkeeper Antonio Mirante has extended his contract with Bologna for another three years.

The shot-stopper, who just turned 33, signed on until June 30 2019.

“Antonio had a great campaign and we believe he can be a key member of the locker room for the future, as he’s reliable and professional,” said director Marco Di Vaio.

“It was what both I and the club wanted, so there was a unity of intent,” added Mirante at a Press conference.

“We reached an agreement very quickly. I arrived here last year from a difficult time at Parma. The club had faith in me, I was one of their first signings after promotion and to be honest I found the ideal environment to give my best.

“I am very happy to have signed a long contract extension. The city is wonderful and the environment perfect for football players.”
